On March 9, 2026, Sakarya University of Applied Sciences launched the Erasmus+ international youth project “Empowering Youth Through Financial Literacy,” which brought together participants from five countries: Turkey, Georgia, Kosovo, Poland, and Ukraine.
The project aims to develop financial literacy among young people, create unforgettable memories, and form international friendships. The program includes lectures, interactive workshops, and cultural trips.
The opening ceremony began with welcoming remarks from SUBÜ Rector Prof. Mehmet Saribiyik and project coordinator Assoc. Prof. Engin Can. Leaders from each partner institution gave speeches and presentations on the cultural characteristics of their countries and universities, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and exchange of experience.
The university was represented by bachelor students Yaroslav Stepchyn, head of the student government, Vitaliy Zabiyan, Anna Solodukha, Denys Sorokivskyi, Iryna Tsaban, Kateryna Yuras and Iryna Chui, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Economic Security, Banking and Insurance Business.
The project, which will run from March 7-14, 2026, will serve as a platform for the exchange of knowledge, cultural traditions, and practical skills that will help young people navigate the modern financial world with confidence.
