Participation in the Summer Course of Polish Language and Culture

Between 6 July and 2 August Mariana Myronova, Associate Professor in the Department of International Economic Relations, took part in a summer course in Polish language and culture at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) as a scholarship holder of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).

The course comprised a total of 80 academic hours and included both intensive Polish language classes, aimed at developing oral and written communication skills, and a series of lectures on the history, culture, literature and contemporary social life of Poland.

A significant part of the course consisted of activities on intercultural communication, during which Mariana Myronova had the opportunity to tell her international colleagues about Ukraine – its culture and education system – as well as to learn more about the national characteristics and academic systems of the other 43 countries participating in the programme.
A particular highlight was a visit to KUL’s International Cooperation Department, where the prospects for developing bilateral cooperation between the University and KUL were discussed.
